Hello, my Easter holidays were probably the best I have had yet, we went down to the south island. we drove through Picton to get eye drops and some pastries before going to the picnic place. The eye drops were for my eye because on the ferry my eye had swollen and had gone a slightly creamy color. once we had got to the picnic place I got to have a look. It turns out that I got a apple crumble pie!
The next trip was to Hamner springs and we finally got to see our motel. We were staying at the kakapo lodge just outside of Hamner. on the first day we got used to the lodge but after 20 minutes it was 6.30 and we decided on an early dinner. We had roamed the streets for a few minutes before we decided on the pizza place. it turned out to be pretty good and after we had finished there was still 4 pieces left!
Then we made our way to the springs to relax. I came to realize that the springs were much nicer at night than day. The next Day we came back and stayed the day for it was better than I realized. There was a slide that always had a cue and a fast river.
After Hamner we took the long drive down to Christchurch to look at the damage there. When we got to Christchurch we drove to our lodging and got used to the scene. but we went exploring on foot shortly after that. We had lunch in the Christchuch botanical gardens and then we went to the art museum. After this we wandered the streets down to container mall.
The next day we went to the antarctic center to look around. First we went in the storm , after that was glad for warm hand rails. after being in minus18 degrees we went on the oddly amusing hagglund ride. We had been mucking around in the center for hours we went back to the hotel.
The next morning we took of for Greymouth via shantytown. It was actually better than I thought but still don't advise you to go out of your way for it. So that night was spent in Greymouth waiting for the opportunity to leave the next morning but the excitement of the trip never faltered.
We then went to Motowaka via the Punakaiki pancake rocks. After exploring paths around the rocks we drove to our hotel. for the rest of the day we played around. The next day we went to tepukatea bay for the day. when we were there we did barely any swimming and allot of walking.
As soon as we had done this we raced our way towards Nelson to meet Peter and Bridget again. As always their house seemed homely because we had housed their paintings for a few years. After a day of longing around in both the bay and their house. The next day again was a relaxing day for we went on a long sight seeing bike ride. At the end of the day we had been all over Nelson and most of all I had favored the Maze.
The next day sadly was the day to go back to wellington. Once we had got home it still felt like we were on holiday.
Well Done For Reading All Of My Post.
